Guesswork this one:

4996 with 305 from Rochdale. That's a respectable 4700-ish there for the Wycombe.

Go Man-go ....

...and Up the Blues.

  • Early comments because to quite some distress now I missed the game. I instead enjoyed a visit to A+E in Cambridge from 23:00 last night to 04:30 this morning which then resulted in an emergency eye clinic appointment today at lunchtime, leaving no time to get to the game. I I am please that medically it was all resolved without serious consequences - mayhap like our run of Christmas form.

    So I am very envious of the 4326, well at least all of those who stayed until the end.

    There was also a very close finish to this week's prediction competition, with for the first time ever a winner decided on not just on the total crowd prediction, but the away crowd rule came into play.

    Closest for the total crowd was tied:
    @OxfordBlue just 10 away from 4498 with 4508 and
    @bookertease just 10 away from 4498 with 4488.

    Congratulations to both for very close, most excellent predictions.

    The honour for finest forecaster of the week goes to @OxfordBlue who was closer for the home / away split for that 4498, out by 15 with the away crowd of 187 and out by just five with the home crowd prediction of 4321. A prediction constructed with some style I suspect.
    @bookertease was not far out, underestimating the Wycombe crowd by 60 and overestimating those who would make the trip by 50.

    In a very strange coincidence, there are just two honourable mentions for forecasts closer than 100: and they are due to @wwfcblue and @Aok84, both with predictions of 4567 which is 69 from the actual attendance of 4498. There is power in these sequential numbers. The keenly awaited 3rd place playoff result would go to @wwfcblue who was 29 away with his away crowd prediction, no shame to @Aok84 who was 38 away for the aways.

    Further honourable mentions for @a40, single figures for the away crowd prediction: 3 out with 169 and for @onlooker - 8 away with 180.

    There was a fair deal of high quality predicting with well over half being within 300 of the correct score.

    Please watch out for the consequential Tour de Season thread and the Posh prediciton thread.

    Go Mango and Up the Blues.
    Take care all.

    Thanks Steve, hopefully we won't hear you're back in the hospital any time soon!

  • Horrible experience for you @railwaysteve.
    Glad to hear it was eventually resolved without serious consequences. Not a great way to spend the night but hope you are sleeping soundly now.
