Wanderers Moment of the Next Decade?

edited December 2019 in Football

I go:

May 2023
Ainsworth brings on assistant Manager Matt Bloomfield in the 119th minute of the Championship playoff final against Coventry.
The score at that point is 3 - 3 and remains that for the final whistle.

Bloomfield scores the 4th penalty to give Wycombe a 4 - 2 victory - our first league victory against them - we don't play them next year and all the subsequent league games are draws.

Comments

  • January 2022, newly knighted Sir Gareth Ainsworth stand in the centre circle after a 12th straight Championship victory to deliver a speech to the 10k fans crammed into Adams Park to announce that we’re going to march on Westminster, then on to the palace to lock the lot of them up and install Bayo as head of state of Albion, the rebranded south east of England after the collapse of the United Kingdom.

  • Parker gets hat trick in first game of 2020 and goes on to get into double figures in the promotion winning season.

Special mention for Dec 21 - Akinfenwa wins Strictly Come Dancing on the day Kashket scores the winner against Leeds at Elland Road - 8th game in the sequence mentioned by @drcongo above.

  • Kashket gets banned for 6 months

  • May 2029 The Chairboys defeat Barca 2-0 in the Champions League final in the Nou Camp Nothing like beating your old rivals in their backyard. Joint managers Blooms and Bayo look on with pride whilst England Manager Ainsworth gives the thumbs up from the TV gantry before jetting off to promote his new album.

  • August 2020, Wycombe start the season away at Villa Park.

  • 21 October 2023
Portsmouth away. It’s a dry, bright sunny day

  • And both sides are challenging for promotion to League 1.

  • February 2023: An opposing fan says he would want to watch us every week, the same day an opposing manager says you don't know how Wycombe are going to play.
