  • Every time Gareth Ainsworth does an interview it is about the players and how best to help them. Not in terms of skills or fitness or tactics, but in terms of socialising them, teaching them to appreciate what they have and understand their worlds and in terms of giving them the skills they need to be able to function. I am very proud of this the most fundamental part of what our club is about.

  • we are so lucky to support this club and these great people we have here!

With a lack of money, we've got to be able offer something else to players. Speaking to a player who was in an academy when he was younger, he said that young footballers are used to having things like cooking, washing and other house work done for them whilst they spend evenings training. Initiatives like this can make the difference between getting cast-offs on loan and getting bigger clubs' best prospects. If we can get players with the quality and potential like Alfie Mawson and Nico Yennaris on loan on a more regular basis, then that can give us the platform to start rebuilding for a more prosperous future.
And not to mention the pride that young players come to Wycombe Wanderers FC as boys and leave as well-rounded and grounded men.
