    Nowhere near.

Plymouth to anywhere along the south coast and up to around the southern m25 and Plymouth and Exeter to pretty much any north west or welsh club (plymouth across to somewhere like leeds), carlisle to blackpool and similar area clubs, tranmere to the north depending on where the sea stops and mersey starts etc.

  • good point @DevC . i should have said 'th majority of the route," obvs you have madeira ans las palmas, majorja abround. obvs crete clubs. can't think of any other in England

  • maybe norwich to newcatle?

  • Bristol City to Swansea and Cardiff?

  • not the majority of the direct route. you have opened a whole can of worms about tidal rivers there anyway. I'm not getting involvee

  • Fleetwood to Morecambe would be.

  • Bournemouth to Portsmouth?

  • Gillingham is only the other side of The Thames and up The Medway

In the Wessex League Premier it's a trip on the River Medina between Newport and Cowes and a sail between either of those and Bournemouth, Christchurch, Fareham, Hamble, Lymington, Portland and Solent University.

  • Vaguely related fact.. Malmo's away trip to Copenhagen in the Europa League will be a shorter trip than any of their domestic league ties this season.

    Handy for the fans.
Must be annoying that the UEFA rules mean the visiting team have to arrive in the country "the evening before the match at the latest".
