I bet they're glad Baz Richardson has gone...(although I miss his regular appraisal of officials and opposition players...)

  • The user and all related content has been deleted.
  • That is a good question. Which current player is the biggest Keith?

  • Jamel Blackman back and we could be looking top half easily.

  • Comment from an Exeter City Season Ticket Holder I know

"Fantastic acquisition for your club, I believe. Good eye for goal when at ECFC, breaking the club record for scoring in consecutive games (either 9 or 11, I think). Mainly played on the right, but good movement inside to create opportunities. Can hang in the air for headers for an absurd length of time, always ended up being sandwiched by two defenders to try and stop him. Good pace in behind the defence. Great signing, as long as he is utilised in the correct positions - gets better with constant game time - not one for the bench really."

  • It’ll be disappointing if Wheeler is our last new signing ???

  • Just ask Ritchie.?

  • Did somebody say Jamal ??

  • Great move getting Wheeler in to appease the anti-Republican faction

Having read that football365 piece, he's my new favourite player.

  • Really interesting interview with Wheeler on the Football365 site - great to have someone so eloquent and politically attuned here. With our Russian-speaking son-of-a-frontbencher Jacob Gardiner-Smith also in the ranks and Matt Bloomfield often interesting in his columns, I wonder if we can claim the midfield with the highest IQ in the football league?!

  • Sido seems like a pretty well read guy as well

Agreed. Wheeler seems like a top bloke.

  • QPR supporting colleague says he was not really given a proper chance at Rangers...as with Smyth. Here's to a fantastic season for both of them...in fact for all of our signings. Not sure about PR though...it has given us UKIP and the Brexit party after all!

  • And let’s not forget that these signings were funded and rubber stamped by our new Republican investor, which shows that all non-extremist political shades

  • Oops...hit send too soon. Meant to say that all non-extremist political shades should be welcomed in our club....and don’t blow your top, I’m being mischievous!

  • See you’re getting the hang of it on here now @glasshalffull

The good thing is...once Gareth has spent all that money...Rob has to stay on board whatever is decided as there's no chance we can pay it back!

  • @glasshalffull Wycombe Wanderers is a not a socialist club, but it is a club with socialists in it.

  • I’m a slow learner bookertease.

  • It does have that 21.30 in the pub feel about it on here though. All nicely mellow and convivial and good-humoured. The pub bore has fallen asleep in the corner and the young ‘uns haven’t quite gone beyond their limits yet. The beer barrels are still half full and the boxes of crisps a’plenty.

Won’t be long though before someone says something out of turn and the tables start flying...

...when someone walks in wearing a clown costume.

  • .....or I misinterpret LX1’s sense of humour again.

  • Allow me.

Am I the only one with a nagging question in my mind about how this all gets paid for in the medium to long term? Let's express it positively: I'm excited to see how Rob and his team are going to change the running of the club in a way that brings in extra income sufficient to support a higher standard, quantity and, presumably, cost of player at the club.

(And I actually am super-interested to see how things change.)

  • I can understand some peoples caution , and others feeling like they are being boxed in , but what was the alternative ? less investment would have probably meant it would have been easier to vote against the Americans , but to what end ? we would have been in a non sustainable position with a load of debt anyway and plus probably fulfilling the bookies predicions. We needed this investment. we were in the shit ! there is always risk but these guys are as good as it gets in my opinion.

  • Well.......the roller coaster has almost reached the top of the big first climb and we're about to go on a rip-roaring ride. We deserve it IMHO.
