Party at the Park #2 ? Crowd forecast for Match 46 - Fleetwood (H) Sat 4th May 2019

I guess this will start with discussion rather than predicitions. I rather hope we will enjoy the day.

Here is a link to the final spreadsheet for the season. I think it has been a good season.

I am going to leave my prediction until later this time.

  • This is such a difficult one...absolutely no idea. I'm going to go with 6668 and 555, thanks!

  • Nothing to play for. Ridiculous start time. I’m going:

    4567 with 345

  • 5000 with 200 away

  • 4,789 with 284 of the Cod Army

  • It'd be nice to get into the 6000s wouldn't it? I think these team deserves that.

  • 6155 with 285 alleged headbutters

  • 5123 with 167 away

  • 6,752 with 198 Fleetwood.

  • 5405 with 178 away

  • 5245 with 189 Trawlermen sailing home disappointed.

  • 5317 with 195 away

  • 5555 including 250 for Fleetwood

  • Good luck to Micra trying to get with in three on this one.

    Wide range of possibilities. I'll go low at 4817 with 172 from the north.

  • 5482 with 278 from Fleetwood

  • 5200 (200 away)

  • Thank you @Shev, @railwaysteve and @DevC for the good wishes. If only I understood the scoring system! Was I really within three recently? Have had a look back but unable to find the relevant match.

    As Shev says, Fleetwood is a difficult one to predict. Nearly 9000 for the Stevenage game on 5 May last year but that was a 3pm kickoff on the first day of a mini heat wave - 22 degrees C compared with 8 degrees, possible light shower and a moderate north wind forecast for early evening on Saturday. (Anyone know the reason for such a strange and potentially awkward kickoff time?)

    Survival in League 1, despite GA describing it as being as good an achievement as winning promotion from League 2, is not as exciting and that will be a factor but whether people think it could be his last game as manager or, alternatively, we receive confirmation before the game that he is staying, the Ainsworth situation is bound to boost the numbers. I’m going for 6750 with 295 supporting Fleetwood.

    Thursday evening: two days before the last game of the season, a very difficult attendance to predict. The fate of our manager weighs in the balance as does the weather and the very slight mathematical edge of uncertainty.

    Fifteen forecasts to date and we say:

    Average for Total Crowd: 5521
    Average for Away Crowd 252

    Which would be a very respectful and respectable 5000+ home crowd.

    I think it has been an excellent season, barring a nasty slice from the mathematical blade we will play an entire calendar year in the 3rd flight for the first time since 2003, despite spending the first part of 2019 cursed by Derek Adams.

    I will go 6003 with 167 cod army.

    Happy forecasting all. Good luck. Hopefully it will be a bit of a party.

  • 5432 blues
    234 cods
    5666 total
    GA to stay (hopefully)

  • 5200 incl 250 Fleetwooders

  • 5750 with 250

  • 5345 including 251 of Joey's gang.

  • 5618 with 200 hoping to land a win and one manager capable of dishing out a battering.

  • As long as they're not filleted by us!

  • 5,821 including 283 away

  • 5,247 with 226 in the away end.

  • 5,005 with 73 in away end

  • 5180 With 250 Away Fans

  • It was 5,575 with 120 Fleetwood.

    Here is the final round up of the numbers of those who could be there for the festive occasion at the end of the season, a joyous event for the second season running.

    Congratulations to @Twizz - the closest forecast 20 away with 5555, excellent predicting for a game which was difficult to predict.
    Honourable mentions for those within 100 go to:
    @Manboobs - 43 away with 5618
    @braywanderer - 91 away with 5666
    @Cecil - 93 away with 5482

    The spread of our predictions was wide, over a 1000 either side, but collectively we were very accurate, our 25 predictions averaged 5506, just 69 away. We should take a collective bow.

    We only saw a small portion of the Cod Army so 5400+ Wycombe fans celebrating staying up - not bad eh? Another bow for us as a club.

    Here's to next season. Up the Blues.

  • According to Wikipedia, our average home attendance was 5342, our best since 2009/10 and overall 9th best since 1980/81. Hopefully retaining our FL1 status will increase this in the coming season.
