  • Two own goals! I hope there was a moment where the ref got knocked over by the ball too, would make it a perfect match.

  • Yesterday, the U18s played their first game since 17 October, losing 4-2 in the league at Maidenhead Boys & Girls. No details on the scorers published.

In the SRWFL Premier today, just two games played. Ascot United won 2-1 at Newbury, Abingdon United won 1-0 at Winchester City Flyers. Abingdon, the Chairgirls' opponents next Sunday, scored in the 84th minute and would have been expected to win that more comfortably.

The other scheduled fixture today, Moneyfields v Oxford City, was postponed after one of the City players tested positive for Covid.

  • The Chairgirls return to action on Sunday, with a league game away at their keen rivals Abingdon United. Both teams have a 100%record so far. Kick-off 2pm at Northcourt Road, Abingdon OX14 1PL. "The 2020-21 Season for tiers 3-6 of the Women’s Football Pyramid will be curtailed with immediate effect and declared incomplete, with no further league fixtures taking place this season. There will also be no promotion and relegation between these tiers for the 2020-21 season, including no promotion from tier 3 into tier 2 and no relegation from tier 6 into tier 7. A recommendation for an alternative club movement process is included below."

  • The Thames Valley Counties league recommences tomorrow, the U18s travel to Kidlington Girls U18s, kick-off 10:30 at Pitch 1, Orchard Recreation Ground OX5 2HX.

As for the seniors, the Southern Region Women's Football League will be staging a Subsidiary Cup competition, starting on 11 April. Four teams from the two divisions are not taking part, I think the Chairgirls are one of those. It is hard to tell as I cannot see that the league have formally announced the teams or fixtures, nor have the Chairgirls said anything on social media. The latest Ladies report for the Trust, dated 22 March, does say that the team are unlikely to take part in any further competitions.

  • Well done to the U18s, they won 7-0 at Kidlington Girls today, scorers unknown. Next Saturday at 10:30 they host Maidenhead Boys & Girls U18 at Lane End Playing Fields, HP14 3JU.

We heard Alicia Povey confirm yesterday that the season has ended for the Chairgirls. She mentioned that the team has an "injury pandemic", which might explain why they have not entered the Subsidiary Cup.

  • FT today, WWL U18s 5-1 Maidenhead Boys & Girls. HT 2-0.

Another good win today in the league, scorers:
    Emilie Bamford (15')
    Leah Russell (30')
    Maddie Woods (57')
    Sally Grimm (62')
    Kiyana Fryer (82')

Next Saturday the U18s are at home to Maidenhead United U17 Ravens, ko 10:30 at Lane End Playing Fields, HP14 3J.

By the way, the scorers last week were Kiyana Fryer, Sally Grimm, Rohanna Myers, Leah Russell (2), Amelia Gilbert (2).

  • FT today, WWL U18s 8-0 Maidenhead Utd U17s Ravens. 2-0 at HT.

  • Scorers today, Rohanna Myers, Leah Russell, Eve Savage, Kiyana Fryer, Amelia Gilbert (2), Sally Grimm, Maddie Woods.

Next Saturday the U18s travel to unbeaten leaders Charlbury Town U18 Girls, KO 10:30 at Enstone Sports Club OX7 4AZ.

  • Wycombe Wanderers Ladies are now known as Wycombe Wanderers Women. The change happened about ten days ago on their social media accounts, and on the official website. There does not appear to have been an official announcement.

@drcongo, do you want to rename this thread?

  • Someone's already done it!

  • I thought you were the only person who knew how @drcongo.

  • Thanks whoever did it!

  • FT today, Charlbury Town U18s 1-1 WW U18s.

An excellent result against a team who had only dropped two points all season. Kiyanna Fryer gave the Chairgirls the lead, Charlbury equalised just before half-time.

Next Saturday the U18s are away to Maidenhead United U17 Ravens, an early 9am KO, at 18 Mulberry Walk, Maidenhead SL6 6EU

  • Brief highlights of today's game, two cracking saves by Amy Whale.

  • Today's U18s match at Maidenhead United U17 Ravens was postponed.

Next Saturday the U18s are at home to Kidlington Girls U18s. KO 10:30 at Lane End Playing Fields, HP14 3J.

  • At the Trust meeting on Thursday, Nigel Kingston said that the name change to Wycombe Wanderers FC Women has yet to be ratified, it will be at a meeting later this month. The name change in social media was premature, but clearly the players and management were keen to start using it without delay.

It was also confirmed that injuries, and a reluctance to start training again, were behind the reason for not taking part in the end of season Subsidiary Cup.

The search for a new home for the Seniors continues, no news on that yet.

  • The Kidlington game tomorrow has been postponed.

Next Saturday the U18s host Chesham United U18s at Lane End, KO 10:30.
