Re: Promotion Race Updates Thread
Birmingham have won the league. It's much more helpful to us if they beat anyone they play in the top 6 (after Saturday...)

Re: Promotion Race Updates Thread
The red card for Orient was a shocking decision by the way. Let's hope Saturday's referee doesn't get swayed by the home crowd so easily.

Re: Promotion Race Updates Thread
That’s frustrating to hear. Mind you, looking at the table right now it seems Brum just won’t be caught. So Orient dropping points is good for us.
Re: Match Day Thread: Wigan
You can go there for free on any Saturday for a late morning or afternoon university match being played on one of the many pitches (except the main one with a barrier around it). We don’t own it or have sole use of it and Imperial College have about 10 teams using it for football and possibly also rugby too.
Re: Other Football
Assume it was a re-arranged game so doesn't feature on there?
Think that happened with one of our games we all assumed would be featured?

Re: The State of Play...
Birmingham v Leyton Orient.
What result are we hoping for ?
I’m hoping for a Birmingham win, conceding the title to Birmingham but keeping Orient well out of the way of 2nd place.
Re: Other Football
That’s the trouble with football, you can’t make footballers redundant because even if they are not performing they are a huge asset.
The canteen was costing the club about £500,000 a year in free meals and wages, so not insignificant.
Once players contracts are up I expect the club to hugely trim the playing staff and wage bill also, that will take 2-3 seasons, it’s just unfortunate the staff on the normal wages and behind the scenes are getting culled first.
Will be a long road back for Man Utd, I hope they stick with Amorim though.
