Re: FT article on League One transfer fees
I hear you. But there was something magical about our promotion team and the amount of written off players we had in that squad. Whether it be Alex Samuels, Bayo or Darius these were guys who were discarded for one reason on another and it made that night at Wembley so much more emotional. Dare I say IF we get over the line this time it will be amazing but not as magical. And it is the first time in my memory where our entire being is so fragile. Something happens to our owner's fortune and we are done.
Re: FT article on League One transfer fees
Exactly this.
As exciting as the new signings and challenging for promotion is, we’re completely at the mercy of our owner choosing to continue funding us.
Otherwise we’re in exactly the same situation as Reading.
Re: Samaritans Score Prediction - Crawley (a) and Bristol Rovers (h)
Kone has only scored 16 league goals out of our combined 55 (4 of which were penalties). We therefore have "found" 39 elsewhere, so it's not all doom and gloom
Re: Other Football
Queen's Park are the only Scottish team to have played in an FA Cup Final, twice and beaten both times by Blackburn Rovers. They are a very important team in the history of the game, being credited with introducing the 'combination' or passing style. Nicknamed the Spiders, after their black and white hooped jerseys, I usually hear them called "Queen's".
Re: Other Football
Old Etonians have won as many as Nottsy Forest too.
But even more shockingly Tottenham have won not just one, but 8!

Re: Other Football
Wanderers have won as many FA Cups as Everton and they haven't existed since 1887
Re: FT article on League One transfer fees
But if we had sold Kone we would still have shown a healthy profit on transfer fees.
Re: FT article on League One transfer fees
Still makes me very uncomfortable knowing we are spending the numbers we are spending on players. Exciting though it is.
Re: FA Cup Man of the Match - Preston (A)
I didn’t see enough from Norris yesterday to justify him taking over from Rav. Made some decent saves that I would expect him to make but his distribution was certainly not an improvement indeed on a number of occasions it was rushed and lacked composure. I’ll give him the benefit of the doubt in it being his first competitive game with the team but for the moment it’s Rav for me
