Re: FT article on League One transfer fees
I'm not trying to defend the record of the previous Government, which became disastrous from around 2017 onwards under May, Johnson, Truss in particular, and Sunak.
I'm simply saying that so far under Labour, there appears to have been no improvement.
Whether you like it or not, the following facts are true:
Johnson said what the majority of the electorate wanted to hear, and won two terms as London Mayor, and a substantial majority in the 2019 election.
Trump did exactly the same, and won a second term in November 2024.
Farage now does the same again, and that's why he is favourite to be the next PM, although I suspect that could only happen if there is some kind of coalition or electoral pact between the Tories and Reform UK.
However, 2029 is a long way off, and who knows what could happen in the next four years.

Under 14 years of Tory rule, the UK endured a period of relentless decline in terms of its economy, wealth inequality, national debt, immigration numbrs & living standards.
If you think their policies and performance give you a record of being right all the time, we simply live in parallel universes.

No, not a penalty for me. Player was looking for it. I also thought the referee was excellent, got far more right than wrong.

Re: FT article on League One transfer fees
You are absolutely correct - AONB all the way to the B4009 - beyond Lewknor seems to be neither that or Green Belt.
@eric_plant for me this type of thread affords the opportunity to try some "what ifs" thinking and does not for a moment detract from the huge progress the club has made over the last few seasons nor the immediate opportunities to gain promotion to the Championship.
I am of the view that Shoeless Joe was right & "if we build it they will come" - this applies equally to success as it does physical infrastructure
Re: Other Football
Not sure I agree. Reading guy brought down by Blackman… from the angles offered by the highlights, it’s a stonewall pen not given. Howler territory for me.
